How it works

WorkForHer helps women choose workplaces through other women's experiences. Three steps, and no account needed to read.

  1. 1Find a workplaceSearch by name, in Hebrew or English. If a workplace is missing, add it on the spot.
  2. 2Read experiencesAnonymous reviews by women, ratings in three areas, and salary data once there are enough reports.
  3. 3Share your ownNine short questions, all optional, and one comment. Email verification only before publishing, and the email is never shown.

How ratings are calculated

One method for every company, on the company page, in rankings and for the badge.

  1. For every question, 1 is the worse experience and 5 the better. A skipped question is not counted, and never becomes a 0 or a 3.
  2. An area score (Mind, Body, Paycheck) is the mean of the answered questions in that area.
  3. A review counts toward the overall score only when it answered at least one question in each of the three areas. Its overall score is the equal mean of its three area scores.
  4. A company's score is the mean of its published, counting reviews, one per author per company per year. An edit replaces the earlier version and never adds a contributor.
  5. A number is shown from 3 rated reviews and labelled an early rating until 10. Rankings between companies and the badge need at least 10.
  6. The number is always shown beside the review count. The women who wrote may not represent every employee.
  7. Until version 2 of the questions, the atmosphere question was asked the other way round ("how toxic"). Older answers were converted once (6 minus the answer) and the original answer was kept.

All figures cover the whole period the site has been live, and the month of the latest review is shown on the company page.

The badge

The WorkForHer badge is awarded automatically to a company with an overall score of 4 or more from at least 10 reviews, by the same method. It is removed when the criteria are no longer met. No application, no payment, no other way to get it.

Screening and publication

Most reviews are published immediately. A review with contact details, links or text that reads as a copy of an existing review waits for a person to check it. A low score, a new account or a mention of harassment is never a reason to hold it. Positive and negative reviews go through the same process.

Salary

Salary data is shown only as a median, and only once a group has at least 5 reports. When groups are compared, each group must meet the threshold on its own.
